‍What experience do you have and/or what do you do?

I qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 1996, having worked whilst studying and training for a variety of firms, from Magic Circle City of London firms to local legal aid practices.  A Chartered Legal Executive is a fully qualified lawyer who specialises in a particular area of law, having passed degree-level exams whilst working, and then training to the same standard as a solicitor.

Since qualifying, I have specialised in all aspects of family law, including financial consequences of relationship breakdown, domestic abuse and difficult issues involving children.  I have a particular interest in assisting victims of controlling and coercive behaviour.

What approach do take and/or how do you make a difference for your clients?

I aim to help my clients to reach resolution to family conflict in a constructive and effective way so that all involved can move forward with their lives.  Having worked in Tunbridge Wells or nearby for most of my career I have a wide network of local fellow professionals, such as accountants, counsellors, family therapists and IFAs who I can rely on to provide a holistic support service to clients at what is probably the emotionally testing time of their lives.  

What else would you like to tell us about?

Away from work, I am kept busy by my four children and two border collies.  I am a keen genealogist and often give talks to local history or wider interest groups on this.  I love quizzes – both participating and also writing quizzes for my children’s schools’ PTAs or other local charities eg, Kent Air Ambulance, Tunbridge Wells Youth Football Club.  I also enjoy swimming and running my dogs at agility. I have also recently volunteered to help DAVSS (a domestic abuse charity based in West Kent) with their volunteer training programme and fundraising.
